  • Daniel Amada is a composer and pianist, working in various genre from pop to experimental music. He has appeared internationally in various formations. For the last five years, he has been touring as a founding member of Tango Crash, playing in different cities in Europe and South America and cointing the term "Electrotango”. http://www.tangocrash.com/
  • Till Bay is the initiator of Windowzoo and holds a PhD of ETH Zurich in Software Architecture. His interest in both his research and his art are communities. His PhD thesis is a software development platform that brings together thousands of engineers to collaborate on the development of software applications and libraries.

  • Philipp Bönhof was born July 4th 1983 in Aarau (Switzerland). Attended there primary school to high school and received the high school diploma in summer 2003. Since autumn 2003 he is a student of Computer Sciences at ETH Zurich.
  • Art Clay is a specialist in the performance of self created works with the use of intermedia. Appearances at international festivals, on radio and television television in Europe, Asia & America. Recently, his work focuses on large performative works and spectacles using mobile devices.

  • Claude Gacon is an artist and club owner from Basel Switzerland. He has worked in various genres including installations with various mediums. His club, the Cargobar Basel is well known for its music, art and culinary offerings.

  • Martina Eberle holds an MA from the Zurich University of the Arts and has a wide professional experience in trade shows, exhibitions and events. After the completion of her MBA at Columbia University and London Business Schools she worked at IBM Research as an analyst for new media. Together with ETH Zurich she developed NOVA as a project for the jubilee of ETH Zurich and is now in charge of business development at the ETH-spin-off-up company horao (www.horao.biz).
  • The Erratum Ensemble is a conceptual construction that makes having an ensemble which expands and folds in on itself to allow for the type of production at hand. It is consists of a bank of about fifty performers who specialize in many different areas of the arts, technology and philosphy etc. Directed by Art Clay it has produced many productions on tour over a period of 15 years. Motto: "Only mistakes matter."

  • Steve Gibson is a Canadian media artist. He serves as Associate Professor of Digital Media at University of Victoria. His work fuses immersive art, electronica, gaming and montage. His pieces have appeared at Ars Electronica, the Whitney Museum of American Art, European Media Arts Festival, the Banff Centre and ISEA.

  • Jürg Gutknecht is professor for computer science and head of the Computer Systems Institute at the ETH Zürich. He has a passion for new hybrid art forms. He has actively participated in culturally-oriented "wearable computing" projects, including "Instant Gain in Grace" (motion tracking of a Butoh dancer), "Going Publik" (distributed orchestra based on mobile electronic scoring), and "On the Sixth Day" (multi-channel video system for interactive storytelling).   • Sachiko Hirosue, Sc.D. recently moved to Switzerland to practice science in nanoparticle vaccine design at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in the laboratories of Regenerative Medicine & Pharmacobiology and Laboratory of Mechanobiology and Morphogenes, while continuing to shape a horizontal career at the interface of science, art and society. Trained as a chemical and biomedical engineer at The Johns Hopkins University and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, she has co-chaired the Subtle Technologies Festival (Toronto, Canada), an international festival bringing together the arts and sciences, for the past three years from various locales: New York, Tokyo & Toronto.

  • Andrew J. Jones was born in Chicago and raised in New York's Hudson Valley. After attending SUNY Cortland, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in publishing and music. In 1996 he and his wife expatriated to Copenhagen, Demark. He is the author of many poems and one chapbook, Paradise, published in 2004. Since 1998 he has lived in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

  • Prof. Dr. Cary Kornfeld is an innovator and teacher who has brought unique invention to both industry and academia. He has taught at a number of institutes of higher education internationally. At the ETH Zurich he has teaches stereoscopic imaging and film. The course gets students to explore, examine, and study stereoscopic imaging, systems and productions to better understand the phenomenon and motivates them on a hands-on nature in the creation of wonderful new 3d films.
  • Irena Kulka has a background in biochemistry, dance performance and new media. Her current media projects aim at altering the state of mind. Her project "Instant Gain in Grace" was the start of a collaboration with the ETH Zürich. In her work, Irena Kulka explores her vision of a fluent creative process with digital instruments between imagination and visual design, between improvisation and choreography.
  • Dr. Ling Liu has worked in the Native Systems group for one year. She has implemented the Oberon compiler for AVR processors and designed a virtual machine for 8-bit processors. She also implemented a compiler for the 8-bit virtual machine and developed an interpreter for this virtual machine on AVR processors. She is now assisting the system construction course.
  • 'Dennis Majoe has a PhD in Navigation related Electronic systems and has worked extensively in the design of a variety of motion and orientation sensing systems and computer generated environments including 3D audio. He is director of MASC, an innovative electronics and computer design company active in the field of wireless communications having designed GPS and GPRS Bluetooth systems, RISC based wearable computing platforms and large real time motion sensing systems for the CG industry.
  • Alève Mine is a vocal artist who in the span of her carrier has sung from pop to experimental music. Out of her vast experience with various bands and ensembles, she has forged her own unique style, writing and singing songs in various languages. She is culturally and geographically a citizen of the world and has made the term "multi-culti" a reality. In 2007 she performed in Geneva for the Swiss Federation of Chinese Tourism Industry at their Chinese New Year
  • Stefan Muller Arisona is a post-doctoral research fellow at Media Arts and Technology (MAT) of the University of California, Santa Barbara. His main interests are at the intersections of art and technology, and his research focuses on novel real-time multimedia systems and on live composition and performance techniques. Stefan received an MSc in Computer Science from Uppsala University (Sweden, 1997) and a MSc in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich (Switzerland, 1998). He was visiting researcher at IRCAM Centre Pompidou (France, 2003) and completed his PhD at the University of Zurich's Multimedia Lab (Switzerland 2004). From 2005 to 2007, Stefan was a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at ETH Zurich's Computer Systems Institute, and he was scientific chair of the Digital Art Weeks, an annual symposium and festival that explores new movements in digital art. Stefan has performed internationally and his art works have appeared at renowned venues such as the Ars Electronica Center (Austria, 2006 - 2008).

  • Dr. Simon Schubiger-Banz works as a senior engineer at Swisscom Innovations, teaches a mobile systems architecture course at ETH Zurich, and is an associate researcher of the Pervasive and Artificial Intelligence group (PAI) at the University of Fribourg (DIUF). His research interests include multimedia performance systems, knowledge representation, programming languages, user interface design, and mobile computing. He is a co-developer of the Soundium2 multi-media system. Simon Schubiger-Banz received a Ph. D. in computer science from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He is a member of the ACM and president of the Corebounce Association.
  • Scheinwerfer has performed at some of the coolest locations around the globe, supporting world-class DJs and musicians like Steve Gibson, Jeff Mills, Rush, Miss Kittin, Dave Clarke, Josh Wink and many more. Currently, the project focuses on the creation of interactive virtual multimedia environments and their integration in the physical world.

  • Sven Stauber is PhD student at the Native Systems Group at ETH Zurich. His research focus is the design and implementation of an interactively composable graphical user interface. He was involved as software engineer in various art events.
  • Dr. Thomas M. Strick is a computer scientist with interests in high performance distributed computing. He has been a professor for computer architecture and operating systems, a senior systems scientist for Google and chairman of the IEEE international conference on Cluster. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and is participating in digital arts week projects just for the fun of it.
  • Antoine Thomas-Gérard graduated from ETH Zurich with a master in computer science. In his diploma thesis, which he wrote at the Stereoscopic Imaging Research Group of ETH, he worked on improving stereoscopic viewing methods based on anaglyphic filtering."
  • Lars Vaupel was born in 1962. He lives and works in Hamburg and is a member of the famed F18 Robotics Group. He has constructed robots for many projects and artists worldwide including Stellarc.

  • Thomas Resch Geboren in Mainz 1978, studierte Technische Informatik an der TU-Berlin, danach Audiodesign an der Hochschule für Musik Basel. Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Informatiker arbeitet er als Soundesigner, Soundingenieur und Komponist für Film und Fernsehen, sowie als Produzent im Bereich der Pop- und Elektronischen Musik. Thomas Resch is an information scientist and works beside as a sounddesigner, soundengineer and componist for film and tv. In other fields he is a producer of pop and electronical music.
  • Amédé Flum was born 1964 in basel. Studied drums at the jazzschool in basel. Now playing drums in different bands and teaching drum-set privat and at musicschools.
  • Francisco Sanchez was born in Cuba in 1976. At the age of 8 he began taking piano lesson as well as percussion. As a percussion student he won several competitions in Cuba as well as in Basel. He graduated in Basel (2003) getting the Soloist Diploma. Currently he teaches percussion, joins the Chamber Orchestra for some projects and gives solo concerts on the marimba.
  • Dominik Dolega, geboren 1979 in Krakau, Polen, studierte Schlagzeug bei Prof. Jan Pilch an der Hochschule für Musik Krakau und schloss mit einem Lehr- und einem Solistendiplom mit Auszeichnung ab. Für weiterführende Studien kam er anschliessend an die Musik-Akademie Basel, wo er bei Christian Dierstein ein Konzertdiplom im Fach Schlagzeug und bei Walter Fähndrich ein Kozertdiplom in freier Improvisation erwarb.
  • Tomasz Flammer was born in Krakau. He absolvierte 2002 mit Auszeichnung die Musikakademie in Krakau als Dipl.-Schlagzeuger und Musiklehrer. Seit 2002 arbeitet in der Musikschule „Hast Du Töne“ in Deutschland und dirigiert. Seit 1997 nimmt an mehreren Musikprojekten teil: Kammermusik, Zusammenarbeit mit symphonischen Orchestern in Polen, Deutschland und Österreich als Unterhaltungsmusik.
  • Marc Rebetez was born 1970 in Basel/started playing drums at the age of 7/studied drumset in L.A. and classical percussion at musik akademie basel/ now playing in orchestras and jazz bands and teach privatstudents.
